Questions About Bible:

QUESTION: WHO CREATED THE BIBLE

The short answer is God wrote and created the Bible. However it didn't just fall out of the sky.

God only wrote a part of the Bible directly, such as the time when the Bible says God wrote commandments onto pieces of stone with his own finger. Which He then gave to Moses. (Exodus 24:12, Exodus 31:18, Exodus 32:16)

Most of the time God wrote the Bible through people, just as Noah built the Ark that saved the people and animals from the flood, but God gave the instructions on how to build it, in the same way people wrote the Bible, but God guided them and gave the instructions on what to write.

The Bible is made of 66 books. These books were written by around 40 different authors over a period of about 1600 years. These authors came from many different backgrounds they included shepherds, farmers, fishermen, and kings.

The Bible says each author wrote as the Holy Spirit directed them. (1 Peter 1:20-21, 2 Peter 1:20-21). People did not write their own ideas. They wrote thoughts, visions and messages they received from God through the Holy Spirit.

The accounts of Jesus life were written by those that had lived and followed Jesus. Before Jesus returned to heaven, He promised the Holy Spirit would remind people of all that He had spoken, and teach them the truth. (John 14:26)

All the different books of the Bible were collected and organized by believers into what we call the Bible.

We can know the Bible is from God, because:
-It does not have mistakes or contradictions.
-When it has written about future events, (Prophecies) they have always come true, even though some prophecies were written hundreds of years earlier. There are over 600 prophecies that have come true and no prophecies that have been proven false.
-The truth it contains has changed countless the lives of many people.
-It does not contradict with History, archaeology or true science.
-It has survived through thousands of years, even with great opposition.

No other religious book or any other book for that matter can claim all these things.

Why did God give us the Bible?
-Because God loves us, and wants us to know that He loves us, the Bible is like a love letter to people from God.
-So we can come to know God and have a relationship with Him.
-We cannot love something we know nothing about. That is why God tells about Himself to us in the Bible
-So we could know how to please God, and do what is right.
-The Bible is like a map that helps us and guides us through life
-The Bible tells us the history and future of man, God wanted to tell us where we came from and to where we are going.
-The Bible is like a street sign pointing us in the right direction, towards Jesus. It tells us we are to turn from our wrong ways and follow Jesus.
-The Bible was given so we can learn about Jesus, and how He died for our sins on the cross. And we can have eternal life through Him.

IS THE BIBLE TRUE?
Yes, the Bible is true, In fact the Bible calls itself the ”word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15) The Bible is a book that expresses the thoughts of God, and since God can’t lie (Titus 1:2, Hebrews 6:18), the Bible is true.

UNDERSTANDING THE BIBLE:
Sometimes it is hard to understand the Bible, for it talks a lot about spiritual things. And the Bible says spiritual things are only known spiritually, and they are foolishness to the natural man. (1 Corinthians 2:13-18) That is why we need the help of God’s Spirit of Truth to fully understand the Bible. God says, we can ask Him for His Spirit to guide us and give us wisdom.
